I first became interested in homeopathy when my second son was born in 1988 with chronic eczema, seeking an alternative to steroid cream, I took him to a professional homeopath. After a few months of treatment his eczema had completely cleared up and I had a very healthy child. I was so impressed with homeopathy I decided I wanted to help people in the same way. In 1993 I graduated as a professional homeopath after studying for four years at Purton House School of Homeopathy.
I have been working as a homeopath for fourteen years and I find it enormously rewarding. When I first started lots of women brought their children and babies to me, for varying conditions; eczema, asthma, ear infections, tonsillitis, ongoing infections, all not apparently helped by modern medicine. The results I got were outstanding. It was wonderful to see the children and babies getting better and being happy and more relaxed in their little bodies. People came to me initially by word of mouth.
I started to see increasing numbers of children who had been diagnosed with autism and ADHD. One little boy who I treated was literally bouncing off the walls when his mother first bought him to see me (link to article). He had no eye contact and no speech. I listened to his mother’s story and carefully considered which remedy would suit his symptoms. I saw both of them again after about six weeks and the improvement was so dramatic and amazing for both his mother and me. He was so much calmer and able to play like a normal 3yr old. He could look directly into your eyes and he had started saying a lot of words. It made me realise how powerful homeopathy is. Not only can you treat infections, eczema and asthma but also (supposedly) untreatable diseases (by modern medicine) such as autism.
I started seeing a lot of women who had hormonal problems; bad periods, fibroids, hot flushes etc. also women who were having problems getting pregnant. Again homeopathy helped a great many women.
I recently became involved with an organisation called ‘Foresight’, pre-conceptual care, a programme and a natural alternative to IVF. This organisation has been an inspiration for me. Briefly, they run a programme that helps many couples who have been unable to conceive, or carry a full term baby. It is a fraction of the cost of IVF with a much healthier and natural treatment. I love my work and take a warm, friendly and practical approach. I enjoy getting to know my patients and working with them towards improving their health and vitality, offering a real alternative to or support for their conventional treatment. I offer introductory workshops on homeopathy, to enable people to treat minor problems and first aid situations. I am a registered member of The Society of Homeopaths and I’m also a supervisor for student and registered homeopaths.
I believe that homeopathy is a gift to humanity, to be used, shared, promoted and taught wherever possible.
My philosophy is that every person is unique and individual and should be treated in this way.
